I purchased this unit a few years ago and it has housed two Boston Terriers with ease. It offers comfort, warmth and protects from draughts that you could get from ordinary mesh crates. From flat pack, it is easily assembled in a slot together design. The panels are good insulation, keeping your pet warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The back panels and dividing partition are in frosted Perspex, this allows for light. Although, the unit is lightweight, it is made from hardwearing uPVC with an easy clean surface. It all
dismantles for storage in minutes.
This unit cost me £495 and I had a base made to fit, on small trolley wheels for easy manoeuvring when cleaning around it, this cost an extra £50.
These are very sought after and expensive kennels. For more information you can visit www.snowsilk.co.uk and see for yourself.
Now for the bad bits:
The floor in one compartment has been replaced by smooth, strong Perspex. The floor in the other compartment needs to be replaced (see picture 4), which can be done quite easily if you are a handyman ! (This was caused by the dogs scratching their beds). OR, you can buy replacement floor panels direct from snowsilk, but the Perspex will do just fine . Please examine the pictures provided to view the floors. There is also a certain amount of wear and tear, such as, specks of rust on the small door bolts. The trolley base (picture 5) has water marks around it (NOT urine marks), this happened when they knocked over their water bowls. I then had clip on bowls attached to the front door (not included in sale) !! In general it is in good condition. I am only selling as I have no room for it now I have moved. I am also selling other items you may care to view.
THE HOUSING IS 44 inches long x 24 inches wide x 20 inches high. Each unit is 22’’ x 24’’ and easily housed a Boston Terrier.
